For the project, we were asked to pick an item or product that was produced due to conflicts between two or more countries. However, not everyone in my group wanted to do the same thing. I wanted to study silk, one peer wanted to focus on the history of gun power, and our other partner was fine with either. Trying to accommodate to everyone's interest we decided to research the Silk Road, a trading rout that united several countries by trading silk, gun powder, wood, gold, and many other products.
Our project was divided into three segments: a "news report" about the Silk Road (similar to John Green's Crash Courses), a spoof ad advertising the bad side of the product, and items to sell during our exhibition. When we launched this project, scrunchies were the biggest trend. My partners and I, created and sold 100 scrunchies, fundraising over $300 for our next project, Young Odyssey.
