Arch #1. Shoes
|
Arch 1I really liked how this arch came out! I though it was going to be really easy to create an arch using shoes however, it was actually quite difficult to get them to stay up. Initially, I couldn't form the arch because any time I came close to completing it a pair would collapse. Also, I initially had the Nikes, Old School Vans, and the Adidas on the bottom but because of the hard back of the shoes the base was un steady. I rearranged the order of the shoes which made it a bit easier.
Then I had finally gotten the arch perfectly on both sides but I needed another pair so I had to restart it. At last, I was finally able to get a nice arch shape but the arch wasn't very steady. I tried readjusting the shoes to make sure they were straight and not crooked but nothing worked so I decided to put two books on the back to help it be more steady which worked! |
Arch 2For my second arch I wanted to create a Roman Arch (similar to the one that Phil made) however, it was way too difficult! I tried to constructed the arch for slightly under two hours but I wasn't able to succeed once :( I came close to completing it a couple of times but anytime I tried to merge the two sides it would always collapse. Also, many times the weight off the books onto would shift the base and cause the arch to fall down. I think if I had someone to help me hold up the sides it would have been much easier.
Anyways, after two hours I gave up and decided to create an arch wall. I actually had a lot of run making it. And it reminds me of a 🌈. I basically just staked the books in a certain patter of three, four, three, four. Even though it was fairly simple it took a while to stack all of the books and get them in a nice arch shape. |

Arch #3. Chocolate
|
Arch 3For my last arch I used some of my left over Halloween candy. This arch wasn't too easy but it also wasn't too difficult. At first, I tried using Kit Kats but they were too thin compared to the other chocolates so I ended up using just Snickers and Twixs. On the right side, the top chocolate had a "bubble" of caramel pouring out so it stuck to the Twix, which made it easier to hold the center piece. BUT on the left side the chocolates kept on slipping off because of the texture that chocolate is made out of. In the end, I was able to complete the arch by slightly tilting the top left chocolate.
